Championing a Multilingual Internet at NICAT
On Universal Acceptance (UA) Day 2026, Skills Share Hub proudly joined industry leaders, policymakers, and tech innovators at the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT) to advocate for a more inclusive digital world.
As a key participant and partner, Skills Share Hub emphasized the technical and social necessity of ensuring that the internet truly belongs to everyone-regardless of their language or script.
The Vision: Beyond the Language Barrier
Universal Acceptance (UA) is a fundamental requirement for a truly global internet. While the web has historically been dominated by the Latin script, the mission of UA Day is to ensure that all valid domain names and email addresses-including those in Urdu script (.پاکستان)-are accepted, validated, stored, and processed equally by all applications and systems.
Collaborative Leadership
The event was a testament to the power of collaboration within the Pakistani tech ecosystem:
-
Organized by: ISOC (Internet Society) Pakistan Islamabad Chapter.
-
Hosted by: TezHostâ„¢ and Skills Share Hub.
-
Global Support: The initiative was driven by the global standards of ICANN and UNESCO, focusing on digital inclusion and multilingualism.
Skills Share Hub’s Contribution
Representing Skills Share Hub, our team showcased practical implementations of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). We highlighted our commitment to building UA-ready platforms that support localized Urdu domains, such as اسکل-شیئر.پاکستان.
Our focus remains on empowering local businesses and users to establish their digital identity in their native language, ensuring that technology adapts to the people, rather than forcing people to adapt to the technology.
Key Takeaways from UA Day 2026
